Discussion time:

So I seen several discussions on the Sakura confession, especially on Kishiotos interview on it. From what I gathered, this is the correct interview translation summed up:

One of the interviewers: “Sakura had always been worried about Naruto, but her actions towards Naruto seem to have a different feel from before, she seems very anxious about Naruto…How does she feel about Sasuke-kun?”

Kishimoto: “As for Sakura… Sasuke… what about Sasuke? Naruto is close and she worries about Naruto as well, but as expected, she [loves] Sasuke.

Interviewer: "Because of this, she acted quite haughty towards that guy. She used Naruto’s love for her and told him she loved him."

Kishimoto: "On the contrary…. I felt like depicting an honest girl, with a surprisingly stubborn impression.”

And Kishimoto also comments:

"So... she became such a character, but... well... from here on, maybe I should draw her showing a bit more spirit.
I figured I had placed her in a heroin-like situation
But from the readers I was told harshly that she wasn't heroin-ish at all
Perhaps I should show depict her a bit more like a heroin
Because you say 'Hinata Hinata,' I say 'She's not Hinata'"

Anyone else can correct or have a response to this?

That's really interesting! I've heard some of that, don't remember where...
As for me, Sakura has some feelings for Naruto. If no, then why doesn't Kishimoto say that Naruto for Sakura is only friend and nothing else?
I'm sure, she just hasn't found out\realized it. I think it could be one of the reason that she decided to release Naruto from the promise he made in confession way. Perhaps she did it subconsciously.

About Hinata, Kishimoto is right Sakura is not Hinata and thanks God for it! Thea are very different. I've always thought that Sakura is that main female-hero(heroine) and really cannot understand why do people think that Sakura isn't the main heroine but Hinata is?!

(You may find some mistake in my speech, so sorry for it)

Eh, I hate how people obsess over Hinata -.- It's good to see that Kishi acknowledges that Sakura is the heroine.

:la: I know Kishimoto-sensei is awesome! LOL I love the last part. He must be tired with all people keep saying Hinata this and Hinata that, especially Pierrot who spent alot of budget only for Hinata's confession episode, while the heroine here is Sakura. Which interview is this? (I never read this, so yeah xD; ). And when he said "she [loves] Sasuke", did he use that [] or " when he said it? Honestly I don't really understand it, but is what he is trying to say, is that Sakura's confession about her feelings was true? Sorry for asking alot xD;

It's a 2009 interview with Kishimoto. :)

And the reason loves is in "[ ]" is because of the translation. Some say that Kishimoto said "loved" not "loves", It's being assumed he said "loves".

And he was depicting Sakura as an honest girl. Which means she may have feelings for Naruto. :)

Ooh, I ever read that heroine part, but not "On the contrary…. I felt like depicting an honest girl, with a surprisingly stubborn impression”. Omg, I'm just sooo happy that MK indirectly say here that Sakura's feeling on that confession is real since he said something about "honest girl" xD Thank you for sharing this!
