Discussion time:

So I seen several discussions on the Sakura confession, especially on Kishiotos interview on it. From what I gathered, this is the correct interview translation summed up:

One of the interviewers: “Sakura had always been worried about Naruto, but her actions towards Naruto seem to have a different feel from before, she seems very anxious about Naruto…How does she feel about Sasuke-kun?”

Kishimoto: “As for Sakura… Sasuke… what about Sasuke? Naruto is close and she worries about Naruto as well, but as expected, she [loves] Sasuke.

Interviewer: "Because of this, she acted quite haughty towards that guy. She used Naruto’s love for her and told him she loved him."

Kishimoto: "On the contrary…. I felt like depicting an honest girl, with a surprisingly stubborn impression.”

And Kishimoto also comments:

"So... she became such a character, but... well... from here on, maybe I should draw her showing a bit more spirit.
I figured I had placed her in a heroin-like situation
But from the readers I was told harshly that she wasn't heroin-ish at all
Perhaps I should show depict her a bit more like a heroin
Because you say 'Hinata Hinata,' I say 'She's not Hinata'"

Anyone else can correct or have a response to this?

Kishi is telling them like it is, Sakura is his character and he decided to put her in a situation she was conflicted over and could not resolve it clearly, she was caught between her love of Sasuke, what he became, how naruto tries to do so much for her it hurts, and how the promise around both her and sasuke were sources of pain. She was prepped to either get him to safety or even risk killing sasuke if it meant for naruto to actually hate her, she wanted to stop the suffering on both ends. It could have gone better but I see that with her whole we will fight together this time, sakura should finally get that position she wanted, helping naruto in a big way until the end.

Even with haters chanting Narusaku died at this point, theres too much saying otherwise, I mean not only did sakura hide the fact why she came, Naruto hid the truth about itachi from her, now its only a matter of time before sakura sees why Naruto is still after Sasuke aside from the promise. He still chases Sasuke for the promise (the bond of team 7 that binds the 3 of them and the relation Naruto and Sakura see Sasuke as an important friend, Naruto sees him like a brother Sakura loves him as far as 540).

Sakura is not Hinata and would haters be happy with another hinata? Hell 2 hinatas would have meant Sakura was steamrolled by every fight, sometimes its better how she was on the sidelines to develop in other ways, not the losing streak Hinata had when it came to combat and someone always getting hurt. Haters have to deal with it, Sakura is Kishi's character and he does what he feels is best with her.

I hate how the fandom constantly compares Sakura/Hinata. It's ridiculous and most of the time, they do it to belittle Sakura or bash her. Because they constantly force it to make her look terrible, I'VE been forced to conpare him. it's so damn annoying. <.<

Kishimoto: "You say 'Hinata, Hinata', I say 'She's not Hinata.'"

Damn straight. If Sakura was like Hinata, I wouldn't like her. End of story.

Dam right! I would never like her if Sakura was like Hinata neither. The way Sakura now is the way Naruto fallen in love with her.

"she's not hinata"-I think that this is the best thing i've ever read. I'm really tired of people comparing them to each other. They are waaay different and just because Sakura doesn't have some great tragedy in her past doesn't mean she isn't still a great heroin :)

Yeah, this is the most accurate translation we'll get, I think. Also, I think "loves" is in brackets because Kishi never actually said "loves," he sorta just trails off. It's somewhat implied, like in Yamato's speech to Sakura and when Sakura was healing Hinata - she never actually says "loves," she trails off, because the verb goes at the end in Japanese.

Regardless, thanks for putting this together! I hope Kishimoto stays true to his word and has Sakura be more of heroine (be like Naruto, never go back on your words, Kishi!).

It could have just been that there were a lot of conversations so the person witnessing and taking note of the interview couldn't hear and filled it in.
